Using metallics in design

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner! And that means plenty of sparkles, celebrations, and soirees. With that in mind, I’m making a case for all things metallic–from decor to dresses.  My New Year’s Eve plans usually revolve around a great meal, great company and a beautifully snowy setting up North. To make this year’s celebration even more festive, I’ll be bringing in an extra dose of sparkle wherever I can.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to up the shimmer: this beautiful Currey & Company chandelier featured above, which I just used in a client’s dining room, a bejeweled Donna Karan pillow that I spotted on House Beautiful, a pair of Kate Spade Champagne Flutes that are topped with pretty bows and lots and lots of sequins.

What are you doing this December 31st?

Have you used metallics to make the evening extra festive?
