Overlooking Hingham Harbor on Boston’s South Shore, this coastal home featured in South Shore Living is a reflection of the homeowners’ sophisticated yet casual style. The article quotes the homeowner: “I wanted this house to be timeless. I wanted something I could dress up and something that could be ‘beachy,’ but I didn’t want a beach house with starfish and cream.” Elizabeth Swartz Interiors combined enduring traditional elements with bold colors, textures and patterns, even integrating the family’s personal story in many of the details. The glass copper kitchen backsplash is a nod to the homeowner’s grandmother who arrived in the US from Sweden by boat, carrying three copper pots, which are on display. Says Elizabeth, “I like incorporating family heirlooms. That’s personal history and it’s so important to honor those traditions.”
